Now that you are all Photoshop mages, we are going to take on a new program called Adobe Illustrator CS6. This is a sort of companion-program to Photoshop, so much of the layout and tool functionality is similar to Photoshop. The major difference, however, is that Photoshop is more of a raster/bitmap (meaning, images made with pixels) editor and Illustrator is more of a vector (meaning, images made with mathematical equations) editor. Once you are finished, add some text to make it a logo, then export it as a PNG image. |

-After completing the Personal Crest, you should know how to create shapes and symbols, and have a basic understanding of how to manipulate them. You will create a new Illustrator document titled "DP_SkillsScavengerHunt_YourName" in which you will explore the following skills (each skill should be contained on a separate layer within this document, and each layer should be named after the skill that is on it):
Further instruction will be given in class. Once you are finished, simply hand in your .AI file to the hand in folder. Your file should have a total of 5 layers :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ms. Hammond's away, so here are some tutorial links & examples to help you with your Skills Scavenger Hunt: Type on a Path: Tutorial Example Default Pattern Fill: Example Custom Pattern Fill: Tutorial Example Clipping Mask: Tutorial Example |

It's your job to plan, design, and produce a cover for the yearbook by combining what you've learned about Illustrator with what you've learned about Photoshop. Each member of the class will design a cover to be assessed as part of the course, and one member's design will be chosen as the actual cover for this year's yearbook! |
